Beauty on a Budget

Im BACK …..YAYYY!
So this is my first time giving you glowers a dupes post. So I decided that this post will be dedicated to all my favorite MAC dupes! For those of you who don’t know, MAC is a brand of professional-quality cosmetics known for its insanely huge selection of colors. Unfortunately, with all that awesomeness comes some pretty high prices as well. Although there are some MAC products that cannot be duplicated and are worth the splurge, I’ve found tons of great drugstore alternatives to others!

As always, please keep in mind that prices and availability are subject to change depending on when and where you buy. It’s also important to remember than the pictures you’ll see below are not a completely accurate representation of the colors of these products. So if you see two items that do not look like a match here at all, I promise they do in real life!

With that all out of the way, let’s go ahead and jump into everything!

This shade of lipstick is definitely my go to lippie for everyday wear, it’s completely stunning! If you’re looking for a dark lipstick perfect for all year round , there is nothing better to me than Black Cherry…or Dark Side if you’d like to splurge a little more.

The Original: MAC Lipstick in Dark Side- $15
Drugstore Dupe: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry- $ 8

When you speak of Mac Heroine it eckos the room. I recently purchased this amazing color that I have been eyeing for sometime now . A Great and accurate dupe I have for yall  is Miss Violet ( left) and MAC Heroine ( the color to the right). Same shade, different textures.  is a Fall Limited Edition and might be hard to find. Sounds like Miss Violet Intrigue and Heroine have something in common besides color, you can’t find neither, no where (Heroine stays sold out).

The Original : MAC Heroine $16
Drugstore Dupe : Miss Violet Intrigue

When wearing a full face makeup it is important to use a setting spray to help set and hold makeup in place. The setting spray helps to improve makeup wearability and prevent color from running and fading.

A very popular setting spray is one from MAC called Fix plus. It’s an aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi.

Elf cosmetics offers a more affordable setting spray called Makeup Mist & Set. This invigorating mist moisturizes and soothes the skin with key ingredients: Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C, & E.

Dupe : Elf Makeup Mist & Set $3

When trying them out I noticed that both held up equally and my makeup held in place all night.

The whole  beauty dupe culture is one of those moments that you need a sharp eye, keen sense of BS and tight budget. It’s so easy to get caught up thinking you are saving money by buying a duplicate of a high product, when actuality, its not even a close color, texture and doesn’t work nothing like the real thing. I love dupes but here is some advice, USE GOOGLE. Seriously, do the research and find bloggers, vloggers, sites that have swatches or reviews on the real product and duped one if you are UNSURE of a supposed dupe.

Thanks for taking the time to GLOW,
Tesha Sherie
