Question 1: So when’s the first time you fell in love with FASHION?

This may sound cliché, but as far back as I can remember I have always admired fashion. I was an 80’s baby and that style was so edgy, but fun. I would always look in the magazines and say “I would love to do this” at that time I didn’t know it was called a stylist. I just knew I wanted to “dress up” people. So I started experimenting on myself with looks and as I continued to get better at it the love for fashion grew stronger.

Question 2 : Do you have a signature STYLE?

A signature style, I wouldn’t say because I enjoy experimenting with a lot, but my favorite style to wear is mixing patterns. It’s a risky trend, but if executed correctly it can set your style apart from the rest. If I had to describe my style it would be “Daring Versatility”

Question 3: Who is your favorite DESIGNER?

This is a hard one because I adore a good bit of designers for certain things. Rachel Zoe because of her classic chic designs, Anthony Ryan Auld because he play with mixed patterns like no other, Valentino due to his effortless red carpet gowns and just about most of the ready to wear designers

Question 4 : Who is your current STYLE crush?

Although I will always love Rachel Zoe and her unforced style, but currently I feel like rihanna displays countless looks of style. She brings it from head to toe even in her casual state.

Question 5: How do you pick the ensembles you display?

I don’t have set looks out for the week. It goes with how I feel when I wake up each morning. Even if I feel like being real laid back, I still remember my brand and how I want it to be displayed.

Question 6 : What are some of your favorite boutiques to get your fashionable pieces?

I don’t shop at boutiques often, but when I do I go to Apricot Lane, POSH or sometimes frock candy. My favorite store is Urban Outfitters; I think they know me by name now (haha). I do a lot of online shopping as well.

Figure Flattering : Midi Skirt

A trend I’m taking full advantage of this Spring is the midi-length skirt. This may be the most flattering trend of all time—seriously! A midi skirt is a skirt that hits right below the knee, which creates an illusion of a taller, more slender body. Who wouldn’t want that, right? A midi skirt can come in endless styles options—bodycon, pencil, fit-and-flare, and ballerina to name but a few. One of my favorite midi skirt styles is the pleated A-line. It sucks in your middle and creates that slim waist we all want!

Now that you know why midis are the most flattering trend, lets talk styling. Treat this skirt like any other when trying to put together an outfit. For an everyday look, try styling it like i did with a graphic tee and studded belt. Or, for another causal take, try on some wedges and a crop top with a denim jacket

Even if you’re nervous to try other Spring trends out there, this is one you don’t want to miss! Midi skirts are figure flattering, easy to style, and perfect for Spring.

“Around the Way Girl”

There may be no other hip hop song on earth that lit my fire more than when L.L. Cool J sang his ode to the “around the way” girl:

“I want a girl with extensions in her hair — bamboo earrings, at least 2 pair. A Fendi bag and a bad attitude? That’s all I need to get me in a good mood.”

alison LL Cool J record

Well, I feel this song was made for me. It took me a good long while to save money for the classic Reebok kicks and a fending bag , but I somehow talked my mom into the fake gold chain , bamboo earrings and poetic justice braids almost instantly. I wear them both regularly even to this very day.

My definition of an “around the way” girl is a neighborhood babe who looks just as hot in a pair of sneakers as some girls do in stilettos. A girl who can hold her own with the dudes, who has street smarts and sass galore. That girl is POISON! Who wouldn’t wanna be her? “Around the way” girls also have a personal style that’s fierce, colorful, totally boss and includes copious amounts of GOLD.

A pair of huge-ass gold earrings are the cornerstone of the “around the way” girl look, and the bigger, the better:

Dark lips are huge from magazine covers to runways, and now is the time to wear the trend. Call them plum, red wine-stained, berry, burgundy or Bordeaux, this commitment lip will take a regular Winter’s day to new levels of vamp or Spring’s night into a fashionable kaleidoscope!

I’ve never really into lipsticks , but I’ve falling deeply in love with berry colors. My current favorite ir Wet n Wild Cherry Bomb.
This inexpensive beauty from Wet n Wild is a stunner. Its a deep wine shade that looks sexy and sophisticated even if your wearing a hoodie at times! At $2 this is a great way to dip your toe into the deeper shade pond don’t you think? If you don’t like it I’m sure you have a friend that will take it off your hands.
