New Make Up Trend : Squiggly Brows

Just when I thought that brow grooming styles couldn’t get any more strange , there’s a new trend breaking the Internet that makes every other brow look seem normal af. It’s being called squiggle brows or as i call them finger wave brows, and both names are pretty fitting for the look.

Squiggle brows look exactly as they sound — like a couple of tildes crawling across your forehead. It sounds weird because it is. But you’ve got to give it to the people who’ve tried it: It’s definitely unique.

Wellness Goddess : Erykah Badu Gives Us Tips To A Great Holistic Life

Erykah Badu wears many hats. There’s the Neo-Soul Queen hat, the Doula hat, and the DJ hats, but there’s also the wellness hat. Back in the day around 2003, she appeared in the documentary Holistic Wellness for the Hip Hop Generation to share her take on what it means to be healthy. Spoiler: It involves lots of chlorophyll. Badu has alot of health and wellness wisdom. Below are her 18 greatest tips.

1. Wellness means more than just a yearly physical.
“There are actually five doctors I go by: Doctor sleep, doctor diet, doctor sun, doctor nutrition, and doctor spirit.”

2. Don’t eat animals.
“I’ve been vegan-vegetarian [from] about the time my first album came out, so it was 1997.”

3. Treat your vagina like a mixed drink.
“Ladies .. For a SWEET vagina I drink raw cranberries often. Now the secrets out. [sic] (Reluctantly) Also promotes healthy, strong WOMB & bladder.”

4. But, uh, don’t expect your vagina to actually smell like cranberries.
“My vagina smells like strawberries.”

5. Give yourself a grown-up time-out.
“I have a teepee where I put myself in time-out.”

6. Use a rock-crystal deodorant to communicate with your brain.
“That shit works. You have to stroke under the arm one hundred times on each side. Then you don’t have to put no more on for like three days … It neutralizes the skin. It has to send a signal to the midbrain so neurologically you can stop being musty. It just doesn’t work like regular deodorant.”

7. The best sex is boring sex.
“Missionary is good for your organs.
It’s good for your intestines, the gallbladder, and the liver, and the spleen.”

8. But no sex is also fine.
“I don’t require sex for happiness — I need companionship.”

9. Real friends becomes doulas for each other.
“It was 9/11, actually. Around that time [I decided to become a doula]. One of my girlfriends was in labor, she happened to be the wife of stic.man from Dead Prez.”

10. Buy some expensive rocks.

“Crystals are our friends. Crystals hold the memory of this planet. They’re like computers.”

11. Start each morning with a shot.
“I do the same thing every day. I get up. Drink a lot of water. Have a wheatgrass shot. Drink some green juice. Eat as healthy as I can. I’m not trying to win an award for being the best vegetarian, just want to be healthy.”

12. Be drama-free.
“I don’t drink, smoke or have any vices.”

13. Share your anger schedule with everyone.
“Make sure every body is in the know about which days U can be smooth fucked with. Know your emotional cycle/ pattern. It lessens the blow.”

14. Sitting meditation? Yawn. Try walking meditation.
“I practice walking meditation, meaning the breath — honing my breath at any moment. When I feel it getting shallow, that means I’m anxious about something and then I consciously slow it down and do some deep breathing.”

15. Stretch to remember yourself.
“I love the connection I have with myself every time I take a yoga class. It’s a very nice remembering, remembering the parts of me. You know what I mean?”

16. Drink fancy water.
“Coconut water [is my post-workout drink of choice] because it really hydrates the body.”

17. Treat your body like the luxury vehicle it is.
“If your body was a Lamborghini, you wouldn’t put no bullshit gas in it. It’s important that you put the right thing for the right kind of machine in your body. It needs the right kind of nutrients, and that’s high alkaline foods.”

18. Forget about the dumb past!
“I’m at peace because I’m right here in the moment. This is here, we are here, this is now. And staying in the here gives me peace. When I am worried about the past or concerned about the future, you know, there’s a little anxiety there. But ain’t nothing here right now but you, me, the phone, the room, the doll … everything else is something we’re making up in our mind. I stay outta my mind.”

Solange Knowles Directing SZA’s ‘The Weekend’ Video?

SZA’s debut album ‘Ctrl’ is one of the most talked about about releases of the summer.

In an interview with USA Today, SZA let us in on a little something thats cooking up… the next video to be released from ‘Ctrl’ will be for “The Weekend” — directed by sis Solange Knowles.

via Complex:

“I love her,” said SZA. “I think the universe is just bringing us closer to each other. That’s my homegirl.”

According to B. Scott – If another artist going to be in charge of the visuals for your song, it may as well be Solange. She already showed an affinity for it with a performance piece at The Guggenheim, titled “An Ode To,” and she’s debuting a new performance art piece in Texas later this fall. Allegedly, the video for “The Weekend” takes place at 10 different locations, so the duo sounds like they’re sparing no expense putting this thing together.Even if you throw out the video, the two singers have been spending a decent amount of time around each other later. Both are performing at the Afropunk Festival in Brooklyn on Saturday, and if they’re as tight as SZA makes it seem like they are, they’ll be using plenty of their backstage time to cook up some ideas together. Maybe a collaboration is in the works, because it’s fairly well known they share a mutual admiration for each other’s work.

Im so excited two of my faves are linking up for GREATNESS!

‘Insecure’ Star Yvonne Orji is STILL A Virgin

Molly might be giving up the goods on HBO’s‘Insecure,’ but 33-year-old Yvonne Orji is saving herself for marriage.

via People:

“I’m open, because why not?” she tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “I’m grounded in who I am.”

She adds, “Before any of [the fame] happened, I sat down with myself and with God and thought, when I make it, how do you want me to represent you while I’m here?” The HBO star says she answered her own question: “It was like, OK, I know why I’m here. It’s to make you proud.”

Orji says she’s always more than willing to explain her decision to anyone who inquires.

“People ask about it because they’re curious, or they may not understand,” she says. “How will they ever get understand if I don’t talk about it? I can inform your curiosity, as opposed to everyone being in the dark and just sort of creating their own narrative about it.”

As for her personal narrative, Orji emigrated to the U.S. from Nigeria at age 6. “It was the traditional immigrant story of my parents wanting the best for us and bringing us here,” she says. But life in Maryland wasn’t always easy.

“I was bullied because I have this thick Nigerian accent,” she recalls. “My mom would say, ‘We didn’t come to America for you to be popular.’ Which is fair, but as a kid, you’re just like, it would be really nice to have this thing that everyone else has.”

Later, after graduating with a master’s degree in public health from George Washington University, Orji says she shocked her family (who had always hoped she’d be a doctor), by announcing she wanted to move to New York to pursue stand-up comedy.

“There was no signs of me wanting to do this,” Orji says. “We didn’t grow up with TV as a viable means of supporting yourself. [I told them] it would take me eight years to become a doctor, but give me eight years to make it in entertainment.’ And I’m happy to say, we did it in seven.”

I aint gonna lie , I wish i was still one. She a few years older than me and im coming no realize no one of my pass should of gotten the pum pum
