Questlove Created A 300-Song Playlist for Michelle Obama’s Book Tour

Michelle Obama’s Becoming isn’t just a insanely successful memoir — but its also comes with an amazing 300-song soundtrack from The Roots drummer and curator, Questlove.

via Complex:

“Like a lot of people, I connect many of my memories with the songs and melodies I was listening to at the time,” Obama said in statement shared with Billboard. “From the jazz and Stevie Wonder of my childhood, to Prince and Earth, Wind & Fire as I came into my own as an adult, to Beyoncé, Janelle Monáe, and so many others who provided the stirring backbeats of my time in the White House — music has always been a defining part of who I’ve become.

Obama went on to say that she was “thankful to Questlove for curating these playlists and infusing them with his signature style.”

“Life’s a little better when we live it to Questlove’s beat,” she said.

The whole thing is called The Michelle Obama Musiaqualogy and it’s playing at Obama’s book tour events all over the country. If you can’t make it out to see Obama speak,Musiaqualogy is available on Spotify.  The playlist comes in three volumes, split by era. Volume One runs from 1964-1979. Volume Two covers 1980-1997. Volume Three spans 1997-2018. The first two playlists are meant to be played in order. True to its time period, the 1997-2018 playlist is meant to be played on shuffle.

Diddy Breaks His Silence In The Wake Of Kim Porter’s Passing

Diddy took to social media today for the first time since Kim Porter’s untimely passing.

Accompanying a cute throwback video of them locked in angelic embracing moments

We can’t even begin to imagine how hard this is for her family abd Diddy.

Kim Porter, Mother of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Children, Found Dead

Kim Porter, the model who dated Diddy for 13 years, was found dead Thursday at her Los Angeles home.

She was 47.

via TMZ:

Law enforcement sources tell us they got a call to Porter’s Toluca Lake home around noon. According to emergency dispatch audio the call came in as a patient in cardiac arrest.

A source connected to Kim tells us she’d been suffering pneumonia for several weeks, but it’s still unclear what exactly caused her death.

Diddy and Kim’s relationship spanned more than a decade with several breakups and makeups. They started dating in 1994 and broke up, for the last time, in 2007.

Kim and Diddy have 3 children together — twin girls Jessie James and D’Lila were born in 2006, and she had their son, Christian Combs, in 1998. She also has a son, Quincy, from her previous relationship with Al B. Sure!.

Porter worked as both a model and an actress, and she made appearances on Diddy’s show, “I Want to Work for Diddy.”

Diddy’s rep Cindi Berger tells us, “Sadly, I can confirm the passing of Kim Porter. I ask that you give the families privacy at this time.

Is It The Way? Jill Scott Reminds Us HOW To Snatch Souls

Give Jill Scott the mic — and watch her rock it!

The singer hit the stage at a recent show and aroused audiences by simulating oral sex on stage.

If you’re a fan of Jill’s music than this aint surprise, but social media definitely learned something or two watching Jill jiggle imaginary balls on stage.

This probably be a good time to add a ‘meet and greet’ package to her tours.

Its Either Black or White No Gray Area ♤

It’s a style I really yearn for at times – I just can’t get my head around wearing black and white all the time when I feel the need to WEAR ALL THE COLOURS AND PATTERNS. But these girls do black and white with aplomb, and I can only imagine how easy picking outfits from their wardrobes must be. I wish I could clone myself or have an alter ego who dresses so calm and has the easiest time coordinating outfits. I’d love to know what’s like to be the girl who’s not forever wondering where her bright orange booties are because it would go perfectly with my olive green joggers and orange top.

So this style may not be something I’ll ever embrace myself regularly, but it doesn’t mean I can’t take elements and incorporate it into my style every now and then.

Earth Tones Are Always Fall Fashion WINNERS

When investing in classic pieces, I always think earthtone colors are the way to go!  These items can all be mixed and matched to make the perfect fall look for running errands around town or a date night out. All of these items I already own (and love!)

In Vegas we only get 2 seasons so here’s a colder weather lookbook. Its not even actually cold its been in low 70s high 60s which isnt even cold at all.

TOPS

I went with two busy tops and a simple bodysuit option. It’s amazing how many outfits you can get out of these tops if you keep them in the right color palette. For the busy tops, I went for a earthy tone splash.

BOTTOMS

The key to this part is keeping it basic. One pair of dark skinny jeans and some wine colored jeggings. It’s easily possible to create 45 outfits with these 2 bottoms!

SHOES

It can be easy to go shoe crazy once fall comes around but, the truth is, you really only need a few pairs if you choose the right ones. I went with one thigh high pair of boots with laces, a pair of suede black thigh high that can be dressed up or down, and a more bold red heel. With all of these shoes being completely different but still neutral colored, they made similar outfits look completely different.
