Question 1: So when’s the first time you fell in love with FASHION?

I will say that I started to fall in love with fashion during my high school days. This is because I went to a boarding school and this meant that we had to be in uniforms all through school sessions. I always liked school holidays because it gave me the liberty to actually wear whatever I liked and not some boring uniform.

Question 2 : Do you have a signature STYLE?

I will not say I have a signature style because the way I feel dictates my style each day.However, I like to pick outfits that accentuate my curves, bright and comfortable.
My style is more about pairing inexpensive pieces with expensive accessories to make the whole outfit standout and unique

Question 3: Who is your favorite DESIGNER?

To be honest I have never really been a person who fancy big brand names when it comes to clothing. I am happy to wear simple and inexpensive clothing as long as the material is of good quality and fits me perfectly. However, when it comes to accessories, bags and shoes; then designers like Gucci and Louis Vuitton are my current favorite.

Question 4 : Who is your current STYLE crush?

My current style crush is Rihanna because anything she wears just looks super dope.

Question 5: How do you pick the ensembles you display?

When putting together my outfit, I basically plan ahead and already have a good idea of what the whole outfit will look like before I go out.
Trends also plays an impact on put together my outfit because I want people to be able to relate to what I am displaying.

Question 6 : What are some of your favorite boutiques to get your fashionable pieces?

These days I mostly shop online and I basically shop from stores like missguided, fashionova, Boohoo, H&M and the likes

Meet Breann Danae (25) from Fort Worth, TX. She recently moved to Atlanta to finish school, and further her modeling career. Breann Danae is taking a break right now to get back to where she needs to be physically. She’s been in front of the camera as well as the mirror since before she could even tie her shoes. Fashion is something Breann has been very into, but she haven’t always been in the position to display her fashionista side like she wanted to. She has now been in several fashion shows in Atlanta, and Dallas and plan to do many more. Breann’s favorite type of shoot would be something showing an artistic, or creative side…or definitely something that tells a story. She plans to show the world that as a thick, brown skin girl she don’t have to be an urban model. I’m here to make a difference.

 1: So when’s the first time you fell in love with FASHION?

BreannDanae : I’ve been into fashion really since I was a child, about 5 yrs. I always wanted to pick out my outfits, and would be so quick to pose for a picture. I used to think I wanted to be a fashion designer, but soon after getting a sewing machine, I decided I’d just wear the clothes instead.

Question 2 : Do you have a signature STYLE?

BreannDanae: I honestly don’t believe I have a signature style. I’ll follow a few trends here and there, while remaining true to myself. But a lot of the time, you can catch me wearing a nice pencil skirt, or a good pair of high wasted skinny jeans with a simple strappy heel. My favorite colors to wear would definitely be earth tones.

Question 3: Who is your favorite DESIGNER?

BreannDanae: To be honest, I don’t have a favorite “celebrity” designer. I do have a favorite Instagram designer though. I’ve never met her, but I love her work. Her IG handle is _bumblebryy. She has a true passion for what she does, and her pieces are gorgeous! 

Question 4 : Who is your current STYLE crush?

BreannDanae: My current style crush is definitely Rasheeda. Her style is everything! Very simple, but very fashionable. It can even sometimes be a little “tomboyish”, but still classy and that’s why I love it. I love to mix looks together. I’m also a big fan of Heather Sanders. Heather has that 90’s look most of the time…yet so chic. They both have their own boutiques as well. Rasheeda has Pressed ATL in Atlanta, and Heather has her Sorella Boutique in LA.

Question 5: How do you pick the ensembles you display?

BreannDanae: When it comes to picking out my clothes, it definitely depends on the situation. But for the most part, I take into consideration the type of event, the weather, how I feel, and what looks best at that moment. At night I tend to go for darker colors. While during the day, I would prefer something more light

Question 6 : What are some of your favorite boutiques to get your fashionable pieces?

BreannDanae: There are so many boutiques now, it’s hard to keep up. But I love shopping at a local boutique in Arlington, TX called Blu Chandelier. The owner is a doll, and the clothes are bomb.com. One of my favorite online boutiques would actually be Fashion Nova. I’ve ordered so many pieces from there that I was extremely pleased with.

So when’s the first time you fell in love with FASHION?

Chantaille Elkerson : My mother used to collect fashion magazines. I knew I wanted to be apart of the fashion world when I saw Linda Evangelista step out of a Lamborghini in one of them. I watched her constantly morph and change her look.And I watched Naomi strut her stuff down the runway and sell those clothes like no other. The way these photoshoots and shows were put together effortlessly. I tried to recreate my own versions. I used to steal my moms clothes and wear them to school. The kids didn’t get it though so they picked fun

Do you have a signature STYLE?

Chantaille Elkerson :I have looked back on photos of myself from the past, mortified. Now I always consider whether my wardrobe is timeless or full of future regret and shame. I lean towards timeless pieces now and try to wear more statement pieces.

Who is your favorite DESIGNER?

Chantaille Elkerson : There are so many up and coming designers its hard to pick a favorite. I’m inspired everyday and excited to see where fashion is headed.

Who is your current STYLE crush?

Chantaille Elkerson : I have two style crushes my Mom with her ability to understand complementary colors and pieces and Paola Mathe for the same. These women execute fashion flawlessly

How do you pick the ensembles you display?

Chantaille Elkerson :The best pieces to the least amount of time to put together. And those are the ones I showcase. I believe true fashion is an extension of yourself and should never be forced. From outlandish and extra to boring and basic I wear what I like and pay no mind to what’s in.

What are some of your favorite boutiques to get your fashionable pieces?

Chantaille Elkerson : Etsy and Ebay are my favorite places to get unique pieces from around the world. Goodwill other thrift stores and african shops and vendors around town.

Known as the vintage influencer in corporate America, Mimi Irvin “aka” as OfficicalCorporateChic “aka” Ms. Houston Vintage 2016 is far from ordinary. Mrs. Mimi Irvin was born in Yokosuka, Japan and comes from a military background. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge, La.

Initially, Mrs. Irvin went on a whim and started a fashion blog called Corporate Chic on Facebook to inspire women to think outside the box with their corporate fashion, while accomplishing it on budget. Mimi’s motto is “Dress the Part, Shop Smart”. Only within a couple of months after her “whim blogging” one of her social media confirmations of being a fashionista was being voted by many she didn’t’ known as the Vizions IN Fashion Online Contest Winner in 2013.

Aside from her corporate day job, Mimi Irvin is a vintage resale curator, vintage fashion influencer, stylist, and model. She has created a connection with people specifically women from all over just by showcasing her daily looks on social media. This has evolved into selling her love and passion for vintage on her online vintage fashion shop MeYe Label (pronounced MY Label).

Question 1: So when’s the first time you fell in love with FASHION?

OCC: I honestly fell in love with fashion when I was about 4 years old. I saw Diana Ross perform in Central Park in New York on TV and her amazing style captivated me. Ever since then it’s been about sequin, color, glitter and just being unique.

Question 2: Do you have a signature STYLE?

OCC: My signature style would be anything sequin, but for the most part I am a Jumpsuit kind of gal.

Question 3: Who is your favorite DESIGNER?

OCC: I never was one to base style from brands or designers, however I love the details and classiness that CoCo Chanel possessed, and I really like Stell Jean

Question 4: Who is your current STYLE crush?

OCC: It’s a tie between Tracee Ellis Ross and Solange

Question 5: How do you pick the ensembles you display?

OCC: By ensembles are based on how I feel. Once I complete my hair and makeup in the morning, I can instantly vision what I want to wear.

OCC: Lately I have been purchasing from AngelsVintageBoutique. She is a vintage resale boutique that sales on IG and through her website http://www.angelsvintageboutique.net I also shop local Houston Vintage Boutiques such as Leopard Lounge, Eado Vintage, and the Cottage Shop.

Question 1: So when’s the first time you fell in love with FASHION?

BrooklynPetite: I believe I was a sophomore in High School, that was when I let go of the sneaker trend and bought my first pair of cowboy boots, that I couldn’t stop wearing. After those boots came more ankle boots, knee high boots. It was like I never knew other style of shoes existed outside of the nike and Jordan trend.

BrooklynPetite: : I don’t know about a signature style, I love to switch up my looks every now and than cause I mean why not make it fun you know? BUT if I can wear ripped jeans a t-shirt, some loafers and a leather jacket everyday I would!

BrooklynPetite: I don’t have a favorite designer, I have many Givenchy, Zimmerman, Marissa Webb, Balmain, and Alexander Wang!

BrooklynPetite: My current style crush would have to be Amiee Song, Danielle Bernstein and Kim Kardashian.

BrooklynPetite: Whenever I feel inspired by somebody outfit I have to write it down in my notebook or else I’ll forget it. If I see an item in my closet a lightbulb comes right on top of my head and I make sure to write it down; that way come shoot day I have my looks already.

BrooklynPetite: If I’m thrifting, my go to is L train Vintage they have the best pieces to me and the Levis are extremely cheap! My go to websites are the line by k, misguided, asos, Zara and sometimes top shop (I need them to come out with a curvy collection).

Sharlene Monique is the Founder of Be Uniquely You also she’s a singer, dancer, teacher and blogger. She’s extremely passionate about inspiring people to be the best they can be and she uses her talents to convey this. Sharlene has the privilege of traveling around Europe singing and leading gospel workshop with Karen Gibson, who is an award-winning choir conductor. Question 1: So when’s the first time you fell in love with FASHION?

SM: From a young age I loved to wear nice things and this was heavily influenced by my mum and dad, who took a lot of pride in how they dressed me. My aunties are seamstresses and they would make dresses for myself and my sister. I think it was at the age of 15 when I really started to formulate my own style.

SM: I love many different looks but my overall goal is to always look classy.

SM: I love statement pieces and I also think that sometimes ‘less is more’. I try to keep this in mind when putting my looks together. Of course when I’m not sure, I have a good look on Pinterest too.
