Mos Def And Talib Kweli Join Together Again As BLACK STAR For 3 Shows

Hip-hop fans rejoice!

Not only does it seem like bae Yasiin Bey (the artist formerly known as Mos Def) has completely abandoned the idea of retiring from the industry, but now the legendary lyricist is reuniting with fellow Brooklyn MC Talib Kweli for a 3 nights of Kweli’s 10-show tour this Halloween weekend in California.

The duo, who perform together as Black Star, are following up another reunion of sorts from over the summer, when they were both guests on Dave Chappelle’s Radio City Music Hall run. The Black Star performances come ahead of Kweli’s forthcoming album, Radio Silence, due November 17th.

Best Year Ever? Teyana Taylor to star in VH1 series

Teyana Taylor might be having the best YEAR ever!

First, she bodied her Lil Kim tribute performance at the HipHop Honors earlier this year. Now, Just days after stealing the show at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards with her starring performance in Kanye West’s “Fade” music video, Teyana has been tapped to star in VH1’s ‘The Breaks’ series.

Inspired by The Big Payback, a narrative history of the hip-hop business written by journalist Dan Charnas, The Breaks is executive produced by Seith Mann (The Wire) and John J. Strauss (Mozart in the Jungle). The series, a follow to VH1’s original film which aired earlier this year, will continue to follow three young friends as they fulfill their hip hop dreams in New York City in 1990.

Taylor joins a cast that includes Afton Willamson, Wood Harris, Mack Wilds, Antoine Harris, David Call, Evan Handler, Melonie Diaz, Sinqua Walls and Ali Ahn.Inspired by The Big Payback, a narrative history of the hip-hop business written by journalist Dan Charnas, The Breaks is executive produced by Seith Mann (The Wire) and John J.
