‘Atlanta’ Renewed for a Third Season

One of my favorites is coming back! ‘Atlanta’ will be coming back to FX for a third season 😁😁😁😁

According to THR, FX has ordered more episodes from Donald Glover.

via THR:

The show follows two cousins working through the Atlanta music scene in a bid to better their lives and that of their families. Atlanta is produced by FX Productions and is executive produced by Glover and showrunner Paul Simms, Dianne McGunigle, Stephen Glover and Hiro Murai.

Atlanta is phenomenal, achieving and exceeding what few television series have done,” said FX Networks and FX Productions programming president Nick Grad, who made the announcement alongside counterpart Eric Schrier. “With Atlanta Robbin’ Season, Donald and his collaborators elevated the series to even greater heights, building on the enormous success of their award-winning first season. We’re grateful to the producers and our extraordinary cast and crew for achieving this level of excellence, and we share the excitement with our audience about the third season knowing they will continue to take us to unexpected and thrilling places.”

Donald Glover Just Made HISTORY

Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino just made history as the first black person to win an Emmy for directing for a comedy. Glover is also the first director to win for a show he acted in.

“This really beyonds to Hiro Murai,” Donald said, thanking his co-director. “He taught me everything about directing. He had the eye for this show and he’s just amazing. I really want to give this to Hiro and just say ‘I love you and thank you for being my best friend.’”

Donald made his directorial debut on the sixth episode of Atlanta and also directed the seventh episode.

Congrats!
