Issa Rae’s ‘Insecure’ Season Four Wont Be Back Until 2020

‘Insecure’ is taking a what feels like a very long hiatus.

In an interview with Vulture’s, HBO programming chief Casey Bloys confirmed that Insecure won’t be back for its fourth season until 2020 — because Issa Rae is booked and getting paid.

via Vulture:

“Well, Issa became a big movie star!” Bloys said of the actress, who’s currently starring in Little alongside Regina Hall and Marsai Martin. “We’re not the first place to deal with this, but when you’re in business with very creative and talented people, there’s a lot more opportunities for people to do things. Issa, I think, partly wanted a break to come back to it fresh.”

The network isn’t burning off Insecure, to be clear: It’s betting it’ll be just as strong, and potentially awards-worthy, when it returns to TV. “It wasn’t exactly random that we ended up [scheduling the show] in the spring, right before Emmys,” Bloys promised, “so that the show should get the Emmy love that it has deserved.”

Dang ,ive been waiting for the new season. Such a Bummer

Issa Rae Engaged To Longtime Boyfriend

Issa Rae is engaged!

The actress will marry longtime boyfriend Louis Diame.

via People:

Rae’s Insecure costars Jay Ellis and Yvonne Orji confirmed the news while walking the red carpet at the 2019 NAACP Image Awards over the weekend.

“We’re very excited for her,” Orji told Entertainment Tonight ,with Ellis adding, “We all found out in different ways because we’re all on different text chains. We talk at different times, so we all found out at different times in different ways.”

Orji said she couldn’t be more excited for her on-screen best friend.

“The reaction was all the same, like, ‘You out here in these streets getting married, boo!?’ That was the reaction,”
she said.

Rae also attended the NAACP Image Awards, but she did not comment on her current relationship status. Her rep is not commenting.

And during her appearance on The View on Monday, she played coy when asked about her ring, saying, “I have a lot of rings on my fingers.”

Rumors of her engagement first began to swirl after she was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her recent Essence magazine cover.

Rae and Diame have largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight, though the businessman has accompanied the actress on several red carpets over the years.

Rae has said that she prefers to keep her personal life private.

“I get so much feedback about everything,” she told Marie Claire last year. “The one thing I don’t need feedback on is who I’m sleeping with.”

While speaking with Vogue, Rae expressed a similar sentiment, saying she isn’t interested in hearing fans “input” about her love life.

“I don’t want any input,” she said. “As a writer, you put everything on the table. I’ll take input on kids if I’m going to have kids. How do I not kill the kids? Work? Give me the input. Any other aspect of my life? Give me the input. But who I’m f*cking? No, I don’t need input. I’m good.”

Congrats Sis Issa!

‘Insecure’ Star Yvonne Orji is STILL A Virgin

Molly might be giving up the goods on HBO’s‘Insecure,’ but 33-year-old Yvonne Orji is saving herself for marriage.

via People:

“I’m open, because why not?” she tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “I’m grounded in who I am.”

She adds, “Before any of [the fame] happened, I sat down with myself and with God and thought, when I make it, how do you want me to represent you while I’m here?” The HBO star says she answered her own question: “It was like, OK, I know why I’m here. It’s to make you proud.”

Orji says she’s always more than willing to explain her decision to anyone who inquires.

“People ask about it because they’re curious, or they may not understand,” she says. “How will they ever get understand if I don’t talk about it? I can inform your curiosity, as opposed to everyone being in the dark and just sort of creating their own narrative about it.”

As for her personal narrative, Orji emigrated to the U.S. from Nigeria at age 6. “It was the traditional immigrant story of my parents wanting the best for us and bringing us here,” she says. But life in Maryland wasn’t always easy.

“I was bullied because I have this thick Nigerian accent,” she recalls. “My mom would say, ‘We didn’t come to America for you to be popular.’ Which is fair, but as a kid, you’re just like, it would be really nice to have this thing that everyone else has.”

Later, after graduating with a master’s degree in public health from George Washington University, Orji says she shocked her family (who had always hoped she’d be a doctor), by announcing she wanted to move to New York to pursue stand-up comedy.

“There was no signs of me wanting to do this,” Orji says. “We didn’t grow up with TV as a viable means of supporting yourself. [I told them] it would take me eight years to become a doctor, but give me eight years to make it in entertainment.’ And I’m happy to say, we did it in seven.”

I aint gonna lie , I wish i was still one. She a few years older than me and im coming no realize no one of my pass should of gotten the pum pum
