Its Either Black or White No Gray Area ♤

It’s a style I really yearn for at times – I just can’t get my head around wearing black and white all the time when I feel the need to WEAR ALL THE COLOURS AND PATTERNS. But these girls do black and white with aplomb, and I can only imagine how easy picking outfits from their wardrobes must be. I wish I could clone myself or have an alter ego who dresses so calm and has the easiest time coordinating outfits. I’d love to know what’s like to be the girl who’s not forever wondering where her bright orange booties are because it would go perfectly with my olive green joggers and orange top.

So this style may not be something I’ll ever embrace myself regularly, but it doesn’t mean I can’t take elements and incorporate it into my style every now and then.

Earth Tones Are Always Fall Fashion WINNERS

When investing in classic pieces, I always think earthtone colors are the way to go!  These items can all be mixed and matched to make the perfect fall look for running errands around town or a date night out. All of these items I already own (and love!)

In Vegas we only get 2 seasons so here’s a colder weather lookbook. Its not even actually cold its been in low 70s high 60s which isnt even cold at all.

TOPS

I went with two busy tops and a simple bodysuit option. It’s amazing how many outfits you can get out of these tops if you keep them in the right color palette. For the busy tops, I went for a earthy tone splash.

BOTTOMS

The key to this part is keeping it basic. One pair of dark skinny jeans and some wine colored jeggings. It’s easily possible to create 45 outfits with these 2 bottoms!

SHOES

It can be easy to go shoe crazy once fall comes around but, the truth is, you really only need a few pairs if you choose the right ones. I went with one thigh high pair of boots with laces, a pair of suede black thigh high that can be dressed up or down, and a more bold red heel. With all of these shoes being completely different but still neutral colored, they made similar outfits look completely different.

Many of my associates already came to me for advice and I love sharing my favorite products or simple tricks to make your makeup routine easier. I always say “I can do both” and “if you wear make up it doesnt mean you think your naturally ugly , it enhances what you have”. So I made this video a look that is simple to recreate. 6 Quick & Easy Ways To Style Your Headwraps

What is an Headwrap?

Traditionally, African headwraps are patterned pieces of cloth that are tied in intricate fashions around the head. They can be as small as a square bandana or as long as a yard. However, typical wraps are about 60 inches, or the length of your average scarf. In fact, a lot of women wear patterned pashmina scarves as headwraps, getting two uses out of one accessory!

African headwraps have different names in other languages, including dhuku (Shona), duku (Chichewa), gele (Yoruba), iduku (isiZulu).

Here are a few reasons women wear headwraps:

To protect the hair at night. Many women use silk or satin head scarves instead of a bonnet at night, keeping their hairstyles in place and safe from drying fabrics.

To tame the hair during the day.

If you don’t feel like doing your hair in the morning (or the night before!), large headwraps are a great way to keep your coils in check.

As part of a ceremony. Many African immigrants, inspired by their native culture, wear a tribal head scarf for weddings or other ceremonial events.

For fashion. Today, many African American women wear headwraps for style and simplicity. Pre-tied African headwraps are a convenient way to look nice and cover your hair, while the untied versions can be shaped in many unique and attention-grabbing ways.

To celebrate their African heritage. As more women come to love their natural hair, many have started incorporating fashion headwraps into their daily look as a point of pride. African head coverings (and garments like caftans) are also worn to celebrate Kwanzaa.
